METAD owns and operates the first and only private, state-of-the-art coffee quality control laboratory on the African continent that is certified by the Specialty Coffee Association of America (SCAA). Equipped with advanced coffee-tasting technology, the lab allows international buyers to roast, taste and calibrate coffee to their standards and needs. The lab is also used to train domestic and international coffee professionals. Our highly trained quality assurance staff includes Q-certified coffee cuppers/graders from around the globe, who will be on hand to assist and educate as needed.
Additionally, we offer the following services within our lab which add value to our coffee and customers:
- - Pre-shipment sample preparation and sample approval prior to coffee shipment
- - Coffee quality training and certification (Q-cuppers)
- - Training and education for local farmers to help them produce higher quality coffee and receive good prices for their beans
- - Certification for the coffees tested at our lab (Q-graded coffees)
